Kaylea, Millie, and I got to hang out with our friend, Kaidyn this morning. Kaidyn is Brittney & Bill's daughter. As you can see below, Kaidyn had a great time playing in the balls, while Kaylea spent most of her morning snoozing!

Seven Weeks Old
Kaylea is 7 weeks old today! It is hard to believe just how much she has grown in such a short period of time. She is starting to smile a lot. She lets you know when she is hungry. We have developed a night time routine that appears to make her sleep well. She is only waking up once in the middle of the night. Around 9pm we give her a bath, followed by a baby massage, put her in her PJs, feed her, rock her and/or read to her and put her down. We skipped the routine one night to see what would happen - BIG mistake. She was awake all night long! She is a wonderful baby and I continue to be amazed by her everyday.

Golfing at Covered Bridge
Today, Kaylea & I joined Meagan, Trina, Tasha, Danny, and Toni at Covered Bridge for nine holes of golf. Meagan was so lucky, that she won a complimentary round of golf for 4 and dinner at the club house from her orthodontist. My mom and I just went along for fun. Kaylea snoozed it up through the entire outing, but seemed to enjoy being held by everyone. It was the perfect weather for golf.

Where Have Five Weeks Gone
I cannot believe that my baby is already 5 weeks old. The time has passed so quickly. It is going to be difficult to return to work. Even though I still have 4 - 5 weeks before I go back, I am already anticipating leaving my baby and I do not like the feeling.

One Month Old, Already
I cannot believe my baby has already been in this world for one month. She is amazing. She is beginning to lift her head quite frequently. She is also much more alert. She stays awake for longer periods of time. At night, she has slept for up to 5 hours. She is an awesome baby. She rarely cries (unless she has gas). We have enjoyed the last month.
Jordy goes back to work tomorrow. We are both sad that he will no longer be home during the week. I cannot imagine what it is going to be like when I have to go back to work in 5 weeks.

Ultrasound Update
We spoke to Kaylea's doctor yesterday and found out that everything is normal with Kaylea's spine. It's finally official - she is a perfectly healthy baby! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Pray for Millie
If I have not told you, my mom has decided to be called "Millie." I am no exactly sure why, but it has already stuck. As many of you already know, my mom has been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. We do not know a lot of details at this point, but we do know she has a long road in front of her. There are still many tests to be run, but we anticipate chemotherapy starting quickly. Luckily, she has Kaylea as a bright spot in her life. We are enjoying each and every minute with her and ask that you keep her in your prayers.

Happy Sweet 16th Birthday Meagan
Today, my second cousin, Meagan, celebrated her 16th Birthday (her actual birthday is August 15th). Below are some pictures from her party. We rented a limo for her and her friends to cruise around in.
Ultrasound
Kaylea made her first trip to the hospital today, but at least it was scheduled. When she was born the doctor pointed out that she had what is called a sacral dimple. A sacral dimple is an indentation in the skin on the lower back. Most of the time (about 99% according to our doctor), sacral dimples are harmless and don't require any treatment. Rarely, a sacral dimple may indicate a serious underlying abnormality of the spine or spinal cord. I attempted to talk the ultrasound technician into telling us what she saw, but she could not be persuaded. She said they were very strict about that!
