she still fits

It's hard to believe our girl can still fit in this tiny sink for a bath!  The sink at the apartment is pretty small, but daddy made it work!

sunday funday

Jordy wanted to go see a movie today, so I decided Kaylea and I should get out of the house.  She has been wanting to go see the Easter Bunny, so we headed to the mall...Kaylea got to see the Easter Bunny (I still need to scan in the picture), jumped on the trampoline (not nearly as awesome as Lafayette), and played on the turtles.  Let me say, there are some not so nice kids who play in there and I have to wonder where thier parents are!  She had a great time.  We headed back to the house just in time to catch up with Daddy.

easter fun

It was nice to have a somewhat normal weekend around here.  Friday night we went to Chic Fil A, headed to the grocery, and came back to hang out at home.  My mom, Trina, and Meagan ended up coming over for a little while.  I guess it was just nice to not be moving boxes!

Saturday morning I ran the 2nd leg of the triple crown of racing, the Rodes City Run.  It's a 10k race through   Louisville.  My mom volunteered to take me over so I wouldn't have to deal with parking.  I rushed home so I could pick up Kaylea and take her to an Easter Egg hung at Grace Lutheran Church.  It was nice program for young kids.  They had crafts, face painting, and snacks before the big egg hunt.  Kaylea got a lot of eggs. I thought it was funny because she would pass over several eggs to find the ones she wanted.  She still got plenty of candy.  We hung out most of the early afternoon before Jordy and I headed to Lexington to watch the Cards play in the tournament. My mom watched Kaylea and of course, Meagan and Trina came for another visit!  Kaylea loves spending time with them.  We only ended up staying for the first game, so we were home in time to put Kaylea to bed.  We finished the night watching some basketball games.

on the move

It feels like we have been moving forever.  It seems as though Jordy and I haven't had any "fun" time together in forever.  We are used to getting a lot of date night, but we have spent the last 3 weekends moving.  Friday night we got a couple hours of alone time.  We went to Cheddar's and ran a few errands.  It was nice having some time together.  After Kaylea went to bed we watched the Cards play.

We had to get up early Saturday morning for another day of moving.  We headed to Lafayette to move my mom.  Thankfully, our friends Matt & Jen watched Kaylea while we moved.  It took nearly 4.5 hours to to load the truck with my mom's stuff.  We were hoping to get more of our stuff on the truck.  We only got our couch, which is great because we have been sitting on the floor for a week.  We still don't have a kitchen table, but we have Mimi next door.

After loading the truck, we went to dinner club with our Lafayette friends.  We had a great time, but made it a short trip because we wanted to drive back home that night.  We spent Sunday unloading the uHaul.  Trina came over to play with Kaylea and Mikey helped Jordy with the heavy stuff.

We ended the day with a little fun.  We went to Tumbleweed for dinner and then headed to Teagan's birthday party for some fun.  She had her party at SIGS.  We had a great time celebrating and talking to the adults.  I'm actually considering having Kaylea's party there in July.

getting settled

What a week this has been!  We spent last Thursday night loading a uHaul.  We hired a couple of people to help.  We were pretty exhausted by the time we finished.  Kaylea & I slept in my mom's bed while Jordy slept on the little couch with a Hello Kitty blanket.

We got up early Friday morning and drove to New Albany.  It was the longest drive EVER!  Kaylea & I must have stopped at least 3 times!  But, we made it.  Brittney picked up Kaylea and watched her while we unloaded the truck. I didn't realize how much this was going to help.   Kaylea said she had a great time.  We grabbed a few groceries and then it was time for Kaylea to play with Nana and time for us to move the Big Stuff!  We are very thankful for the help we had getting things in.

I was supposed to run in the Anthem 5K on Saturday, but when I finally went to bed around 11pm, my shin was hurting so bad.  I did not know if I would be able to run.  However, I got up in the morning and ran my personal best (28:23).  Luckily, my leg didn't hurt nearly as bad that morning.

Jordy, my mom, and Kaylea met me after the race for the kid's run.  Kaylea was excited and so cute!  She kept saying she was ready for the BIG RACE!  I didn't know if she would run, but off she galloped when they said GO!  She asked if she could do it again next year.

After the big race, we went to celebrate Tyler's 1st birthday party.  Erin put together a nice party.  As you can see from the picture below, he enjoyed the cake!  Kaylea ate & played before we headed back to the house.

We spent the rest of Saturday hanging out and putting things away.  We had some family time, enjoyed the Spaghetti Shop, and Jordy and I wrapped up the night catching up on Survivor.

We are starting to get things in place, but we have yet to get all of our furniture here.  We left behind TVs, the couch, the kitchen table, my treadmill, and tons of other stuff.  We are moving my mom this coming weekend and we are hoping to fit a load of stuff on the end of her truck!  Wish us luck!

sleepover

We have been planning for sometime to have Owen come spend the night, and with only one weekend left in Lafayette, it seemed like good timing.  Jen & Matt needed to get to Maker's Mark to pick up a special barrel of bourbon, so Owen stayed with us (I wasn't brave enough to take on Elliott, too).

We were busy.  It wasn't completely intentional.  Going into the day, I wasn't sure what we would do.  Owen came over just after 9am and the kids played.  Jordy was moving some stuff to our storage unit, so we had to go pick up a uHaul at noon and we had a house showing at 1pm.  I sent the kiddos to Mimi's for 20 minutes so I could get the house in good shape and then we dropped Jordy off to pick up the truck.

We headed to Chuck E. Cheese to kill some time.  Watching two kids at Chuck E is much more challenging than one.  I just let them have the run of the place and tried to keep up.

After Chuck E. Cheese we went to Target. They were both excellent there.  I needed to get a birthday present for a party next weekend.  I debated taking them with me, but it all worked out.

We came back to the house and I let them rest by watching  about 30 minutes of TV.  When that was over, we had to take Doodle to get a hair cut.  They loved wandering around looking at all of the animals.

When we came back they played monsters with Mimi a little longer while I ran to the tanning bed and grocery store.  Mimi cooked us a "feast" as they kept saying.  It was burgers, potatoes, fruit, and rice with broccoli.  While the food was cooking, the kids had a dance party in Kaylea's room.

After dinner, they called for us to pick up Doodle, so we headed back to the pet store and stopped for ice cream on the way home.  Around 8:30, Jordy put on a movie for the kids.  I thought they might fall asleep while watching, but they didn't.  At 10:00 I hoped in bed with Owen and Jordy rocked Kaylea in the chair.  In less than 15 minutes they were both sound asleep!
