Where's Daddy

Kaylea and I were playing in her room while Jordy was out cutting the grass. As he rode the lawnmower past the front window, Kaylea was trying to get his attention. By the way, I just updated this because it made no sense. Why didn't anyone tell me???

I know it's dark, but I love the look on her face in this one!

Friday

I worked the past 2 Saturdays, so I had this past Friday off with my monster. We had a great day. We played and played. We had lunch with my law school friends Brian & Cora. Cora has a 1 year old boy (I brought my camera and forgot to take it in). Friday evening I had one of my Mother's Day gifts - Jordy & I took my mom to see Wicked. I saw it last year with Jordy's mother and loved it. It was just as fabulous this year.

Before the Show

Nice Surprise

I came into work on Monday and one of my co-workers had brought me some flowers from her garden. I made comments on those that were on her desk last week. What a sweet surprise! It put me in a good mood all week (ok, it helped that I had a long weekend coming up).

I couldn't resist posting this video. We were at Mark's Feed Store tonight and I grabbed my phone after she did this for about 10 minutes and captured this video. Apparently, Kaylea thinks she is a doodle or that she has to drink like one. She kept sticking her face in the water and then looking at an older couple in front of her laughing. She had the entire area around us laughing before it was all over with. What a ham!

America's Funniest Video

I bought Kaylea this Easter gadget. We were at Hallmark and she just loved it. I brought it home and wanted to show Jordy & Pop how much she liked it. I think the Doodle liked it the most.

Popsicle

OK, so this isn't a picture of the first Popsicle Kaylea's has eaten, but it's a picture of the second! Brittney gave Kaylea her first frozen treat. She liked it so much that I had to get a box. These Popsicles are small and slow melt. I tried one and they are good, but hard to bite into. Kaylea always eats the whole thing!

Teeth Pictures

Look really close and you can see them - two teeth are almost in!

Who likes the tunnel more? Skeeter or Kaylea?

Random

Instead of making 2 posts, I decided to just title this one, "Random." Kaylea is 10 months old today. Her little personality is so great. She is a very happy baby. She has learned to clap and does it all the time. She thinks she is hot stuff when she claps her little hands together. She is starting to say, "light." She can point to wear the lights are. She also knows several of her toys. She can point out her Boo, Abby Cadabby, and her monkey.

Below is another preview of her birthday party outfit. She is wearing an Abby Cadabby inspired tutu. Isn't it adorable?

We had a great Mother's Day. I didn't get any pictures. It's so hard to take pictures when you are enjoying the moment. Jordy & Kaylea took me to Panera Bread (my choice) for breakfast on Sunday. We had lunch with Jordy's family. I got flowers (my favorite - star gazer lilies - you can keep your roses) and tickets to two shows (Wicked & Legally Blonde). Jordy and Kaylea hung out while I took a really long nap and got a pedicure. Later in the evening, I went to Bingo with my mom. We didn't win any money, but we had a great time. Kaylea even stayed up until I got home at 10:00. It was an awesome Mother's Day.

Wearing My Shades

Kaylea doesn't really like to wear her sunglasses, but she certainly loves chewing on them.

Here Come The Teeth

Kaylea is finally getting some teeth. She hasn't been fussy or anything, but I noticed something that looked white in the bottom of her mouth and she let me put my hand in and feel. Sure enough, she has 2 teeth coming in. I cannot seem to get a picture, but I'm sure I will eventually.

Nine Month Pictures

For you non-facebookers out there, I am posting a few of my favorite 9 month pictures. As always, Courtney did an excellent job. I cannot believe our baby girl is growing so quickly.

Here are some facts about Kaylea at 9 months (a little over due)
1. At 9 months, you still don't crawl and you don't seem interested in crawling.
2. You eat baby food and some table food 3 times a day.
3. You like when people sing - you try to sing along.
4. You still love the Doodle - you smile when you see her.
5. You take 2 naps a day.
6. You still don't have any teeth.
7. You love to stand and walk with someone holding your hands - we get tired, but you just keep going.
8. You eat finger foods - you especially love these things that are like cheetos!
9. You say mama and da-da. You've actually said mommy and daddy a few times. You still don't know who is who. We try to get you to say, "moo" and you sure do try, but it just sounds like "mmmmm." It is so sweet.
10. You like to be on the go - you have no problems going out or being around people.
11. You've never met a stranger - you will let just about anyone hold you.

Crawling Pictures

I realize I already posted a video of Kaylea crawling, but I plan on printing this blog for her baby book and I won't be able to print the video, so I'm posting a few pictures, too. As you can she, Kaylea loves a phone!

Crawling, Finally

I do not have any pictures to post tonight, but I wanted to let you know that Kaylea is finally crawling. She started slowly at Brittney's house last night. Then, this morning, she started again, but only did it once. When we came home from church, she really wanted her glow worm and she crawled half way across the room for it. Jordy and I went out for dinner tonight and his parents watched Kaylea. When we came home, Pop told us that she was crawling around all night. I guess we will have the proof in the morning!

Birthday Preview

Most of you probably expected us to have a monkey or monster party for Kaylea's first birthday, and that would have been a good guess. However, we decided to go another direction and have an Abby Cadabby party. Abby Cadabby is the most recently character to join Sesame Street. Her catch phrase is, "that's so magic." She is a fairy in training and is adorable, just like our little monster. I have been searching for the perfect bow with Abby Cadabby colors and I finally found someone to make one for me on Etsy.com. It turns out so cute. It is huge. It looks even larger because we don't usually put bows in Kaylea's hair. It's hard to believe she will be 1 in 2 1/2 months!
