Kaidyn's Ball Pit

If you haven't noticed, I have been off work since last Wednesday. That is why I have taken so many pictures and written so many posts. Last week, we went to Kaidyn's house. Kaylea played in the ball pit and loved it. I guess she will be needing one for her birthday. She mostly wanted to eat the balls.

Go Cards

Kaylea attended her first U of L basketball game this afternoon. She did wonderful. She seemed to like all of the action and brought the Cards some luck. They won the game.

Sippy Cup

I know we are a little early for a sippy cup (I think you are supposed to start around 6 months), but Kaylea loves drinking water out of a straw, so I was anxious to see what she would do with the cup. It is a little too heavy for her, but she loves it. When you take it away, you better have something to replace it with, because she is going to be upset. Our little girl is growing up so quickly. We need to slow things down.

I Love My Feet

Kaylea loves her feet - almost as much as her hands. Check out the pictures below.

Laughing

I am so excited that I finally got a video of Kaylea laughing. The first time we got it on video, she as in the bath tub and I didn't want to post any videos of that. As you can see, she thinks her mama is very funny!

Our Ornaments

As I type this, Jordy is in shock that I am actually posting this. He keeps asking if I'm actually posting pictures of our ornaments. Ha! Jordy & I have been exchanging ornaments since the year we were engaged (1998). Unless the ornament has the year on it, sometimes it is hard to remember what year we exchanged it. We will add to the tradition and give Kaylea a special ornament each year on Christmas Eve night. This year, I decided to take pictures so we won't forget. I told Jordy I wanted something with my name on it, the year, and it should be sparkly. As you can see, he missed the sparkly part. This wasn't his best performance, but he did get me a really cool stocking. I gave Jordy a remote control, because I think he always tries to steal it from me. We got Kaylea an ornament with her picture on it. It says, "Little Monkey."

Christmas Day

Below are a few pictures from Christmas. We had an amazing time. Kaylea woke up at 6:45. She usually eats and goes back to sleep until about 8:30, but not today. She must have known that Santa had come. We spent the day with our families. In between events, Kaylea took a 2 hour nap. She was exhausted from all of the excitement. Thanks to Daddy & Kaylea, I was able to take a much needed hour and forty-five minute nap (pretty much unheard of) and Daddy had about an hour.

Merry Christmas Eve

We took so many pictures this week. I wanted to share a few. We spend Christmas Eve night at Nana & Pop's. Kaylea had a great time. I think she enjoyed all of the attention.

Hiding

I put Kaylea on the bed and went into the kitchen to make her a bottle. When I came back, this is what I found - she was hiding under the UL blanket. She is so silly. This is what she likes to do with her blanket at night.

Our Good Little Sleeper

Kaylea has been doing the funniest thing. We will rock her to sleep and then lay her in the bed. She almost immediately wakes up and starts talking and laughing. It is hilarious. About 5 of the last 6 nights, she has actually laughed and talked herself to sleep. Jordy and I have always said that we probably wouldn't let her "cry it out." Luckily, we haven't had to. We love rocking her, but it is great to know that she will put herself to sleep.

She takes after me as far as sleeping arrangements go. She likes to wiggle herself into the corner of the bed. She used to hate having a blanket, but now she likes it. I guess she just wants to be warm. It worries me a little because she likes to pull the blanket over her face. We go in and move it all the time, but she just puts it back.

High Chair

Millie bought Kaylea a high chair for Christmas - now she can eat her baby food like a big girl! She looks so tiny in the high chair. It's going to be interesting to compare what she looks like in the high chair a year from now.

First Christmas Present

Kaylea received her first Christmas present yesterday. Amy & Art gave her a really cool cloth book. She loved it. However, she liked the paper just as well.

Peek - A - Boo

Below are some pictures of Kaylea playing peek-a-boo with her Daddy. She is really starting to enjoy the game.

Kaylea's First Christmas Party

Kaylea made it through her first Christmas Party. We weren't sure how she was going to react, especially since she didn't take her usual number of naps. However, she was excellent. She was passed from person to person like a hot potato and didn't mind one bit. She never got fussy and seemed to enjoy all of the attention. The best part - she slept from 9:30 until 10:30. We all got a pretty good night of rest.

Crackers

Kaylea had her first cracker the other day. It mostly entertained her. There was definitely more in her hair, on her face, and on the tray than in her mouth. She seemed to enjoy the new texture.

Busy Season

I like to post on the weekends, but we have been so busy lately, that I've nearly forgotten to take pictures. Kaylea is growing and learning. We love watching her learn. When she was really little, we used to put her in the exersaucer with a pillow under her feet. She wasn't too interested, but she didn't mind it. Now, you put her in, sans the pillow, and she goes to town. She can turn her self from side to side, turn the pages on the book, turn the music on herself, and anything else you can think of.

Jordy is so lucky to have the next two weeks off with K Monster, and I am excited to have a week off. My time off starts on Wednesday. It is going to be a busy week, but I am going to have plenty of quality time with my favorite people. Kaylea & I plan to visit with friends and spend lots of time with Daddy!

Little Miss Attitude

Kaylea has developed quite the attitude here lately. Yes, she is an awesome baby, but she can definitely get mad. When she is in her bouncer, she tries to put the green frog in her mouth. When she can't get it in her mouth, she gets really mad and starts screaming. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Kaylea's New Christmas Outfit

Ready for Christmas

Kaylea is ready for her first Christmas. She cannot quite sit up on her own, but she is very close. Below are a few pictures of her in front of our lime green Christmas tree and in her new "Santa Baby" shirt. Mommy has one to match!
