The Melting Pot

We were looking forward to some downtime by Saturday.  We made reservations at the Melting Pot.  We love the restaurant and try to go every so often.  Realizing it had been 6 months since our last visit, we though it was time. We definitely enjoyed our dinner!

Girl Scouts

We have had an extremely busy week with Girl Scouts.  Jordy and I were scheduled to do the lesson at Thursday's class.  Our troop leader was sick and could not make it, so we were there with Mrs. Q!  It was fun, but tiring.  Jordy read a story, I helped the girls with a craft and we played a game, and Mrs. Q prepared them for Thinking Day.

During the month of February, Girl Scouts from 146 countries celebrate World Thinking Day.  It is a great opportunity to rally the global sisterhood around a particluar theme and a chance to support girls as they travel internationally, connect with sister Girl Guides, and take action globally.

Kaylea's troop decided to learn about Germany.  They had a great time and Jordy said he never wanted to see a gummy bear again!

Catching Up

We have been so busy around here that there has not been much time to blog.  Kaylea has taken on dance class and theater and we have had some full weeks.  I found these pictures on my phone and wanted to get them posted.

Kaylea's first batch of macaroons!

This girl LOVES going to the library.  It seems like every time we go she wants to have her picture taken in front of this book.

Over Valentine's Day weekend, we had Alannah over and celebrated by going to Dave & Buster's.  The line was really long to eat dinner inside so we ate at home.  Keeping with tradition, we had a heart shaped pizza.

Indiana Visit

This past weekend we took advantage of Kaylea being out of school and cheap airfare and flew to Indiana for the weekend.  Flights were priced right at $120 a flight!  Kaylea got to have a sleepover with Trina & Shannan.  She also got to invite Lucy & Stella out to our hotel to swim.  Lucy was able to stay and spend the night.  The girls played games, swam, ordered room service, and acted crazy.

Friday we got our hair cut and finished some quick birthday shopping before driving to Greenville to spend some time with Jennifer & Jewell.  We spent an afternoon at Chuck E Cheese where we got to see all of our friends and play games.

Kaylea got to spend time with Nana & Pop.  I was able to take Brenden to a Louisville basketball game and watch from a suite.  I had a girls night out with dinner and blackjack at the boat.  We came back to the room and hung out after the fun ended.  Before hitting the road Sunday morning, I was able to indulge in a 45 minute massage.  It was an amazing weekend home, but we are glad to be home.  We have traveled 3 of the last 4 weekends.

Disney World

We did the most spontaneous thing ever!  School was called off for the remainder of the week around 2pm on Wednesday.  At 3:30 I booked a flight to Orlando that left at 7:30 that same night.  We have been trying to find time to go to Disney World when it wouldn't be busy, but that was not working out with the school schedule.  When this opportunity arose, we jumped on it.

We spent 4 nights in Disney, but toured the parks for 3 days.  We went to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot.  Crowds were so low, I think we did more in 3 days than we could have done in 6 days.  It was amazing. We walked onto ride and we were able to use the computer systems after the ride.  It was awesome!

Kaylea loved every minute of it.  I was impressed with how much she walked without asking Daddy to carry her.  At the end of the nights she crashed, but she was a trooper all day.  She rode her first roller coaster that went upside down, The Rockin' Roller Coaster. She loved it and wanted to ride it again and again.  That's all she has talked about since.

I am so excited that we decided to take the leap and go!  This is one for the memory books!

Gymnastics Update

I am so proud of this girl.  At gymnastics this past week, she was finally able to kick over after her backbend.  It is time to perfect the back walkover!  It was really great because she has been scared to even do the backbend lately because of hitting her head a few times.  Go Kaylea!
