welcome to the world jewell faith parr

Congratulations to Jennifer & Kyle Parr (and big sister, Liz) on the birth of Jewell Faith Parr. She came into this crazy world on Thursday, May 19th at 10:31 p.m. Jennifer had a wonderful pregnancy and was very excited when Jewell was born. Jordy & I were able to visit the family in the hospital and I have to tell you, Jewell was super cute. She slept most of the time while I held her. People always ask me if I miss having a baby - nope, I have plenty to borrow!

climber

Kaylea has been climbing on everything lately. You turn around for a few seconds and turn back around and she has climbed onto the nearest table or whatever! She's a freaking monkey! Her lately obstacle has been her changing table. She started off using the yellow rocker to climb onto the changing table, but now she can do it from the floor using the handles. If she falls off, she just shakes it off and climbs right back up.

impromtu cook out

At the last minute, we decided to have a Memorial Day weekend cookout. We were going to do it on Monday, but I do better in the evening when I have the next day off. We got to see so many people! My aunt & uncle are in town from Florida, so they were able to join us. Kaylea had a blast. She was ready for bed by the time the party ended.

flooded basement

It's hard to believe you could have so many problems with a new house - but we have! Our back yard is one big hot mess. It is slipping and sliding, which apparently caused our down spouts to be blocked, which caused a bunch of water to back up, which led to water in our basement. We also found mold in the walls. Fun times. While Art & Jordy were pulling up the carpet and discovering the mold, Kaylea decided it would be fun to treat the rolled up carpet like a horse!

splash

Our girl loves her water table - so much, that if you turn your head she will climb on in while you aren't looking. It doesn't matter that she is fully clothed and wearing her shoes. She's so crazy!

zoo trip

I had a long week of work last week and worked a full day last Saturday. I was lucky to be able to take the day off on Friday. We invited some friends to have breakfast in the morning and then we headed to the zoo for a couple of hours. Sometimes I wonder if Kaylea is really my child? There are a lot of things that remind me of me, but not her like for bugs and lizards and things. I mean seriously - I.hate.them! We had a great day together. I always feel so busy in life and it was nice to take some time to just spend the day with my little monster.

cats

Kaylea loves cats! Jordy is highly allergic to them, so we probably won't ever have a cat. My mom wanted to take Kaylea to see her great Aunt, Barbara. She has about 20 cats (some inside and some outside). Kaylea was in cat heaven.

thirsty

This child gets in the bath tub and acts like we've never given her anything to drink! It's not even just the bath tub. Last week, she was drinking out of the water spout outside.

I've always loved my mom. She's almost always been my best-friend. I've almost always appreciated her. But now that I am a mother, I can say that I appreciate all she did even more. When she talks about me like I hung the moon, I now understand how she truly feels.
I had a great Mother's Day - I had time to see all of the special mothers in my life, time to relax, and some extra special time with my mama. I am so thankful to be a mother and have such a sweet baby girl.

baby in a basket

Most Sundays, Mimi watches Kaylea while Jordy & I do P90X. Kaylea is always so excited when she gets there. When we came upstairs from working out, this is what we saw - my mom swinging Kaylea around in a basket, singing "I've got a baby in a basket." The funny thing is, this basket is normally in her room filled with toys and stuffed animals. Kaylea went in her room and took everything out and got inside.

where's kaylea?

Kaylea was playing in her room the other day while I was in the living room. I noticed that it had gotten quiet, so I went in to see what she was doing. At first, I didn't see her. I'm not sure if she was trying to hide or what, but when I saw her, I couldn't stop laughing.

weekend

We had a great weekend, but I confess - I forgot to take my camera anywhere. Friday, we worked on getting things to Shannan's house for our Saturday morning yard sale. Kaylea had a great time playing in Shannan's car.
Saturday, we got up early and headed to the yard sale. Kaylea played with Shannan, Mommy, Daddy, Nana, and Brenden most of the day. She had a great time - Nana jumped on the trampoline with Kaylea. We were able to sell a lot of Kaylea's clothes and toys and made a pretty decent profit!
The pictures below were taken this morning - Kaylea was playing and climbed on top of her toy box. Later, she grabbed her Mr. Potato head glasses and put them on - she asked me to take her picture.
We had some decent weather, so we played outside this afternoon - I gotta tell you...I don't know about Kaylea, but this weekend just made me tired! I need a weekend to recover from this weekend!
