Poor Cards!

I hope the Cardinals have a better basketball season than football season, because below is a picture of how Kaylea feels when they are losing!

The Scary Pumpkin

We went to Huber's this afternoon for a family day. We had lunch and a delicious caramel apple! Even though Kaylea will not remember, Jordy really wanted her picture taken with a pumpkin. Kaylea is generally a happy baby, but she was not happy when I showed her a tiny pumpkin with a painted face. I think she was getting sleepy. We both look forward to our weekends with Kaylea no matter what we have planned. It's difficult because we both work during the week. Spending time together today was awesome.

Back To Work

My baby is 10 weeks old today. I captured a great picture of her laughing this morning. This is not the only milestone this week. I survived my first week back to work. It was difficult, but the thought of going back to work was much worse than actually returning. I did not cry when I left Monday morning, but I shed a few tears when I got home that night. I went back to a new position. I like the challenge of the position and most of the time the day passes quickly. I am always so excited to head home at the end of the day to see my baby.

I have been lucky enough to have family members and friends take care of Kaylea during the day. I truly have no worries when I am at work because I know she is in good hands.

Visit From Autumn & Aidric

This weekend, we got a visit from Autumn and her son, Aidric. It was great seeing Autumn and her baby boy. Autumn is someone I could got years without seeing and we would never run out of stuff to talk about. I wish she still lived in the area. He was born exactly 5 weeks after Kaylea. We tried really hard to get a good picture of the babies together. However, the best we could get was one screaming and the other one yawning. Maybe next time.

K Monster

I have given Kaylea a new nickname - K Monster. Don't ask me where it came from. One day I just started calling her K Monster. I knew she needed a unique nickname, so I think it's starting to stick. I hope she likes it!

Three Generation Pictures

My mom and I had our picture taken with Kaylea on Wednesday. I have been trying to get my mom to have her picture made with me forever!!! I guess it took having a baby to get her to cooperate. She hates having her picture taken. I wanted to go to my favorite photographer, Zalewa, but we scheduled these at the last minute, so we had them done at Click.

Two Month Check Up

Miss Kaylea went to see Dr. Lowe today for her 2 month appointment. I went against the latest trend and elected to have all of her shots today. She screamed when she had the shots, but calmed down quickly. We then came home and snuggled up and took a nap together. Kaylea weighed in at 11 pounds, 1 ounce and was 22.5 inches in length. She is definitely eating well thanks to her mama!

I have decided to switch pediatricians. Every time we have been to see Dr. Lowe it has taken a significant amount of time. I am not pleased with the amount of waiting that we do while in the office. I also do not feel that things are adequately explained. As a new mother, I do not always know what questions I should ask, but expect doctors to provide the information. I think we will be seeing Dr. Nassim at her 4 month visit. I have a lot of friends that are happy with that practice.

8 Week Pictures

Our baby girl was 8 weeks old this past Friday. She is starting to develop her own little personality. I love watching her smile & laugh.

Play Time

Oddly enough, Kaylea does not seem to mind tummy time. She lays on her mat and turns her head from side to side. If you leave her there too long, she will start making some noises, but that does not happen too often. We have been giving Kaylea things to hold on to. Before today, she could only seem to hold a straw, but I was afraid she was going to poke her eye out. Today, she was able to get a tight grip on a monkey rattle.

First Football Game

Kaylea attended her first high school football game last Friday night. I did not go, but according to her daddy, she was a perfect angel. She stayed awake for most of the game and enjoyed looking at the big bright lights.
