Happy Half Birthday Kaylea

Our sweet girl is four and a half!  I always take her picture next to the piano since it is a piece of furniture we will have forever.  I can't seem to get a collage put together, so this is what I have.  She has grown an inch or two this year.  She continues to be sassy & sweet & highly opinionated.  Where has the time gone?

  • Favorite Song - ABC Song & Twinkle Twinkle (these are her first requests when I sing at night).  These are the same as last year.
  • Favorite Book - Pinkalicious - there is part where they say "stinky pinky underpants" that she thinks is hilarious.
  • Favorite TV Shows - Sponge Bob (ugh), Caillou
  • Favorite Foods - Honey Sandwich, Fruity Pebbles
  • Favorite Snacks - Tortilla Chips
  • Favorite Drinks - Raspberry Lemonade, Juice
  • Favorite Toys - anything to do with art; Doc McStuffins Check Up Center
  • Favorite Animal - Cats & Dogs
  • Learning - Kaylea's teacher says she is up to kindergarten pace with her writing and letter sounds.  She should have no worries next year.  She is very interested in learning to read.
  • Activities - Kaylea currently takes gymnastics

What a Year!

These are the pictures I have taken this year - three!  It's not that we haven't been busy the first 15 days of year because we have. I cannot even remember what we spent our time doing.

I went out of town for work for a week.  Kaylea was a trooper.  She must be secure in our relationship and secure with her daddy because she didn't seem to have a very hard time with me being gone.  It certainly made it easier.

The picture below shows a dress Kaylea made out of a pillow case the other night.  She is such a silly girl.  She really loves to color and be creative.

I came down with the flu after being out of town.  I ended up taking a few days off of work in the office and working from home.  It was only two days later when Jordy had the flu.  We have been doing a lot of entertaining with Mimi and the TV around here this week.  I feel bad, but we are both wiped out!  Here's to hoping for a little normalcy at least for the next two weeks until I go out of town again.

Ringing in 2014

Our friends, The Klimesh Family, had a NYE party this year.  It started at 7pm and included food, drinks (adults & kid friendly), a bouncy house, whistles, and awesome friends.  I was surprised that I made it up until midnight.  I haven't been feeling wonderful, but I also don't feel sick so I didn't think I needed to miss.  Kaylea had no trouble staying up until midnight, but she did crash quickly once we arrived home.  Happy 2014!  What resolutions are you making this year?
