Trick or Treat

I gave in - we went trick or treating with Kaidyn. She had a very creative costume. She was a peacock. We had a great time. I think everyone was worn out by the time we were finished. In fact, Kaylea fell asleep before we finished.

Party In The USA

I should probably keep this video to myself - but this has become one of Kaylea's favorite songs. For some unknown reason, she does not love the video camera. Therefore, she is not as happy to dance as she normally is, but you get the idea. Also, instead of a Jay-Z or Brittney song coming on, a Kaylea song always comes on.

Happy Halloween From Our Little Monkey

I've gone back and forth as to whether I wanted to dress Kaylea up for Halloween or not. I knew that she would not care either way, so it would really be more for us. I bought a monkey costume, but it was too big. Then, I thought about making her a garden gnome, but waited too long. Today, I put her in her monkey costume and captured this great picture. I love monkies, especially our little monkey.

My Brown Eyed Girl

It looks like Kaylea's eye color is finally going to change. I've thought from day one that her eyes would turn brown. They were blue when she was born, but quickly turned to a smokey gray color. Just last week, I noticed they turned brown. I'm not certain you can tell from this picture (compliments of cousin, Trina), but you'll just have to trust me on this one. From now on when people tell me how much she looks like daddy, I can point out her brown hair and brown eyes.

Daddy is Sick

I apologize for not getting the weekend update, but Jordy has been sick, so it has just been me & Kaylea hanging out. Jordy went to the immediate care center and found out he has the flu. This made for some quality time for mommy & baby.

Kaylea is starting to talk non-stop, at least when she is in a good mood. I always wonder what she is trying to tell us. She babbles on and on. She is also starting to grab for objects. She's never been too interested, but here lately, she tries to get the animals hanging above her head on the play mat. Of course when she gets one, she wants to put it in her mouth.

Three Month Pictures

I got to view Kaylea's 3 month pictures today - they look great! It is going to be difficult to decide what to order. I must tell you, I was a little nervous about using a new photographer. Jordy and I have almost always used Zalewa. I was even more nervous when I realize she did not have a studio and she showed up at my house with just one camera. However, I think the pictures are great and I look forward to using her in the future. Check out the pictures at www.courtneyparisphotography.com. Sene me a message if you need the password. After I order the pictures, I will post a few.

Stubborn Baby Girl

I usually wait until the weekend to post, but thought this was important to share. I woke up Monday morning and got ready like I always do. Around 6:30, Kaylea was awake and happy, so I got her up to play with her. I put her on her belly for a little tummy time. I always try it first thing in the morning when she is an extra great mood. When I put her down on the blanket, she immediately rolled over. I couldn't believe it! I had just been talking about how I thought it would take her longer than most babies because she does not hate tummy time. I was in shock, so I put her on her belly to see if she would do it again. She immediately rolled the other direction. Excited, I called Jordy and then my mom to tell them the news. In the meantime, I went to get the video camera. I had it on and put Kaylea on her belly - all she did was scream. I have tried several times since Monday morning (not yet again in the morning) and she has not cooperated. I do not know if it was a fluke or what, but she definitely rolled over twice. Guess we'll have to try it again later and see what happens!

Just Another Sunday

This weekend was not as great as most weekends because I worked on Saturday. However, Jordy had a lot of homework and school work to get caught up on today, so Kaylea and I had a lot of snuggle time. She even decided to help me do the laundry. Below are some pictures of her in the excersaucer that we have borrowed from Kaidyn. Right now she just sits in it and looks at me and laughs, but I think she will start playing with the fun things on it soon.

My Cousin Trina

As most of you know, we are very blessed to have my mom watch Kaylea while we work. We also feel very lucky to have the best friends and family. When my mom goes for chemo treatment on Thursday, my cousin Trina has been watching Kaylea. Trina has nicknamed her, Mookers. Below are some pictures of Kaylea hanging out with the family on Thursday while my mom was getting her chemo. Also on Fridays my has to follow up with a shot. It's been great to have my dad or Jordy's dad come hang out with Kaylea. We also have our great friend and neighbor, Brittney, who has volunteered to help when needed. I was so worried when I found out about my mom's cancer, but so far things have worked out and Kaylea has the best people looking after her.

Three Months Old

We are having Kaylea's 3 month pictures taken professionally tomorrow, but I wanted to take a few of my own on the 10th. She posed for some great pictures. I hope she smiles for the ones tomorrow.

Here are some things we want to remember about her when she was 3 months old. She has been smiling so much lately. She loves to dance around the house with us. She has great neck control. Probably, her favorite thing to do is look at her mobile. Her daddy loves to "talk" for the animals as they move in front of her. She thinks it is hilarious. She still does not sleep through the night, but she is on a very consistent schedule. She goes to sleep around 8:30 or 9:00 and sleeps until 4:00. She wakes up to eat and then goes right back to sleep. On the weekends, I like to bring her in our room in the morning to snuggle. As long as she is really tired, she likes this. If not, it does not work out. She still loves taking baths. She kicks her legs in excitement when she gets in. We value the time we have with her each and every day. We love you K Monster!

My First Harvest Homecoming

Kaylea attended her first Harvest Homecoming this weekend. The weather was chilly at the beginning of the day, but the sun came out to warm things up a bit. We had a great time visiting with Mindy, Bobby, and Charlie. We also got to try out the new Wick's Pizza in New Albany.
