Kaylea loves the table and chair set she got from Nana and Pop for her birthday. We've had it in the basement, but decided to rearrange some of her toys, so now it is upstairs in her playroom. This morning she was entertained for nearly an hour with crayons and some paper. She actually preferred coloring on the table, but we tried to get her to keep it on the paper. I hope the walls aren't next!!!

sweet tooth
who does k love?
moments
This morning, Kaylea wanted her blanket out of the crib. I put her in the crib so she could grab it. When I picked her up she snuggled up with it and leaned on my shoulder and said, "night, night, love you." Too sweet!
trick or treat at the louisville zoo
We took Kaylea to the Louisville Zoo for trick or treating on Thursday. We were lucky enough to have Mimi, Nana, Meagan, and Mikey come along with us. It took us longer to get there (because of the traffic) than it did to go through. Kaylea absolutely loved it! It didn't take her long to realize that if she walked up to the people at the booths, they would give her something. She held on to this Crunch bar like she was never letting go. It was funny to think about because, really, she didn't even know what she was getting. Sometimes she would put the treats in her Elmo bucket and sometimes she would just carry them.
She really was adorable. She knows how to say, "thank you" (or at least her version). By the end she was saying "thank you" after being given something.
It was a cold night. By the time we got back in the car, Kaylea was cold and hungry. She downed an entire peanut butter sandwich and a container of applesauce and then passed out on the car ride home.

dancing with sam
Kaylea had a great time playing with Sam on Saturday night. At one point, Kaylea kept wanting the monster to sing the monster mash. She would turn it on and off, over and over again! I'm sure others were annoyed, but I thought it was very cute. She and Sam eventually started dancing to the music. Check out the picture below where they were holding hands. I'm not sure how Same slept, but when Kaylea finally went to sleep after 9pm, she was beat! She fell asleep in seconds.
happy 33rd birthday daddy
Give me an excuse and I'll host a party. Honestly, wedding coordinator or party planner would be my dream job! Jordy celebrated his 33rd birthday on Wednesday, so it seemed appropriate to have a small party for him this weekend. He had a great day celebrating with family and friends. Kaylea had an awesome time, too (see the next post)!
baking
I was making dinner the other night (french toast cups, yummy!) and Kaylea wanted to help. I gave her a few bowls - one with sugar (dumb idea #1), one with chocolate icing (dumb idea #2), and one with water. I eventually had to take the bowl with sugar away because she just wanted to eat it. However, she had a blast baking. She loves banging spoons in the bowls. And I just love the last two pictures. In the first one, she didn't know I had the camera out. In the next two, she saw the camera and immediately "hammed" it up!

moments
Last night Jordy had Kaylea in the shower and he just kept telling her to say, "Love You, Mommy." Kaylea kept saying her version..."lub woo." It was soooo sweet. She is also attempting her version of "thank you" these days.

bye, bye, kitty cat
It was a very sad day today - we had to put our young Persian cat to sleep this afternoon. I am so used to having my animals live for a long time that I was shocked to find out that Skeeter was in the early stages of kidney failure at only 9 years old. We have been giving him injections since April. He lasted longer than I thought, but it was still hard to say goodbye. Kaylea was just learning how to pet Skeeter softly, and every time he entered the room she would announce it by saying, "cat." The house is going to be a little emptier without Skeeter Bug!
dinner club
Jordy and I hosted dinner club this past weekend. Since we are not having our annual Christmas party this year, we decided to go all out. Our dinner club decided to make it a costume party. I have to admit, I really wanted to be Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, but Dorothy grew on me. We took the picture below with Kaylea because I'm fairly certain we are not going to be dressing up for Halloween. Our friends had some of the cutest costumes. I had a great evening - I laughed so hard my face hurt! Thanks, Danielle, for watching Kaylea so we could have fun with our friends.
moments
Kaylea has been saying, "poppy" a lot! I never knew what she was referring to until Sunday morning. She is talking about her pacifier. She will say it non-stop sometimes until she can find one. It may be time to break her of the paci soon.

fifteen month stats
Our little monster is getting so big! On Friday, I took Kaylea for her 15 month well check at 10 a.m. While in the waiting room, Kaylea immediately noticed the fish in the tanks. She kept pointing and saying, "fish."
While waiting in the doctor's office, Kaylea found an open cabinet that she wanted to play in. She kept slamming the door and laughing. The nurse measured her at 31.5'' long (80th percentile) and weighed her in at 21 lbs, 2 ounces (25th percentile). She is a healthy little girl. Is this really my child? Kaylea had to get three shots. This was extremely difficult on mommy because I had to hold her hands down. Mommy did come prepared with goldfish crackers and her blankie.

moment
I am going to start titling all of my posts that are short blurbs I just want to remember as "moments." I want to remember that Kaylea is calling pumpkins, "pop-kins." She says it like two words. It is so dag on cute!!! She also goes up to the pumpkins we have carved and says, "BOO!"

?treat?
We were at Target this past weekend (after a long day at Harvest Homecoming and dinner out) and Kaylea had to pick out her trick or treat container. She had plenty to choose from. Obviously, my daughter could not pick the "cheap" orange pumpkin. She had to have Elmo!!! I think her daddy may have had a little to do with that. The pictures below show her trying to make a decision.
purse
This past Friday afternoon, we had lunch with Nana & Brenden. After lunch, we went into a little shop on Charlestown Road and Kaylea was loving all of the purses. You know how Nana's are - Kaylea came home with a purple purse. It is so cute - she puts it over her shoulder just like a little lady. You guys know I never asked for a girlie girl, but I may not have a choice!
fun with a micky d's cup
I played in my first Texas Hold Em Tournament this past Thursday. I just learned how to play the Saturday before. I didn't do too bad - I may have the Poker bug. My mom watched Kaylea while I played, because Jordy always volunteers at the tournament. She came over with a cup of ice - you would have thought this was the greatest toy in the world. She kept tipping the cup up and spilling the ice everywhere and then cracking up. I posted the pictures (for my future blog book) and the video because it's cute!

Taste of Our Place
Kaylea Loves Meagan & Trina
Jordy and I have been going to the gym together one day during the week. The Y has a child care center that we can take Kaylea to, but we say why bother when she has plenty of people that want to spend time with her. Last week, Trina & Meagan came over to watch her while we worked out. Here are some pictures of them playing.

Moments to Remember
We printed our first blog book and I love it. We are actually giving it away as Christmas presents to our parents this year (they don't read the blog for various reasons). Since I am using this in place of a baby book, I want to write down things that I don't think I will remember.
Kaylea thinks everything is a phone. No matter what she has in her hand - examples include remote control, hair brush, stuffed animal, play phone - she will pick it up and put it up to her ear and say, "hello." It is soooo funny.
When I picked her up from daycare on Thursday, they asked if there was someone she called, "Mimi." That's what she calls my mom. We call her "Millie" but Kaylea has decided to call her Mimi. Guess we'll see if it sticks. Anyway, they said she was using the toy phone all day saying "Mimi." How sweet.

More Pictures
I couldn't decide if Kaylea was ready for the ferris wheel or not, but since it wasn't crowded, I decided to give it a try. She loved it. She kept trying to look under the bar to find her daddy. It was too cute!
