weekend

Jordy and I spent the weekend in Indy, so I don't have a lot of pictures to post. The two I have are from my phone, so they aren't very great. Nana & Pop watched Kaylea on Friday night, after Shannan picked her up from day care. Mimi spent the night at our house with Kaylea on Saturday night. Jordy and I were awake by 8am and home pretty early. We had a great time hanging out with her this afternoon. The weather was perfect for the first day of Spring.

pig tails

Kaylea's hair is finally long enough for pig tails! She's barely awake in this picture, but you get the idea. Isn't she such a cutie?

what a day, beautiful that is!

What a beautiful day! I had so much to do to get ready for Miss Jennifer's shower tomorrow, but I had to take some time and spend it outside with my littler monster. Her activity of choice - play in the street gutters with the rocks (I'm such a great mom for letting her)! We had a blast. Kaylea played with bubbles, the wagon, rode in her stroller, drove the Barbie car and walked the Doodle. Jordy started putting together her trampoline. Hopefully, it will be ready tomorrow so we can get in some bounce time. It is so nice to have warm weather - I.cannot.wait.for.Spring!

before we know it

I realize that Kaylea will be driving before we know it, but apparently she is ready now. These are some old pictures from my phone that I just found, but I remember the day very well. Kaylea insisted on playing in the car and I let her. She waved and told me Bye! Then, when I made her get out of the car, she went in the house. I walked into the bedroom and came back out and she had a play set of keys in her hand. She waved to me, said bye, and headed for the garage door. Too funny!

dinner club playdate

We went to dinner club on Friday. Amy & Art were supposed to host, but they decided that we should go out. We went to Habanana Blues in New Albany. I'll admit, I was skeptical...but it was pretty good. I even ordered something healthy (since we have started P90X). Since it was on a Friday night, we decided to bring our kids. They don't get to see each other too often. Check out the picture of Kaylea and Alton below. If you remember, the last few times she has been around Alton, she scream. This time, she screamed...and then touched his hand...and then patted his back...and then wanted to hold him.
Kaylea also got to play with Ryan & Melissa's daughter, Sam. Kaylea enjoyed hanging out with the kids and we actually fit in some adult conversation.

cake pops!

I'm throwing a baby shower for my friend, Jennifer, on Sunday. It's been a lot of fun to plan (that's my thing - my dream job = Party Planner)! Anyway, I have been baking all weekend. I made cake pops for the first time and they are fantastic (if I do say so myself). They are pina coloda cake, combined with cream cheese icing, dipped in white chocolate. Does it get any better than cake on a stick??? Kaylea didn't think so. Actually, she preferred the cupcake with icing.

nana & pop

Nana & Pop stopped by this afternoon. Kaylea had a great time seeing them. She was having a battle between her two flashlights - the cow and the dinosaur! I'm not sure who won. Kaylea then had a great time running from one person to another, pretending she was going to give kisses, but then turning away.

breakfast with triple A

Saturday we had breakfast for lunch with Art, Amy, and Alton. It's been since before Christmas that we have been able to see each other with the kiddos. Kaylea did pretty great. She was obviously happy because she got to eat "cakes." She was so happy that she even sat in the booster seat (this was a first ever). She got a little upset when I was holding Alton, but she calmed down and got used to it. As usual, she was making friends at the restaurant - waving and blowing kisses to everyone coming and going. Alton was awake for all of the visit, too. It was nice to catch up with some great friends.

easter egg hunt (practice)

Those of you who know me, know that I am extremely competitive. It's not always my best quality, but I can't seem to change it. So, I thought Kaylea should start practicing for the upcoming Easter egg hunts! That's just what we have been doing. I hide the eggs and then Kaylea searches for them and puts them in this monkey purse my friend gave her.
