Derby Weekend

I attended my first Oaks event last Friday.  It takes a lot to get me to take a day of vacation, but I did.  It looks like I am taking a lot this year!  It was a great experience.  We started the morning with breakfast at Toast.  We arrived at Churchill Downs around noon.  It was a great day of socializing and a great day of betting.  I hit something on almost every race, including an exacta on the race before the Oaks.  We didn't have any trouble getting out of traffic and even had time for dinner after.

Derby day was fun, too.  We went to a party at the neighbors' house.  Kaylea came with us for the first hour.  Trina came over to play with her after that while we stayed there.  It felt like a mini high school reunion seeing all of the people from our past.  Kaylea got a special treat that evening - she got to sleep in our bed and she was on top of the world!
