Independence Day

The 4th of July fell on a Saturday this year.  This made is extra nice because I had the day off of Friday, too.  Thursday night Jordy and I were asked to help out on a last minute mystery shop.  Afterward, we had drinks at the Fireside Grill with our neighbors.

Friday we spent some quality time with Kaylea.  We went to lunch and then spent a few hours at a local water park.  The water was like ice, but I surprised myself and jumped in anyway.  I even went down the slide.  Jordy and I were able to catch a movie Friday night while my mom played with Kaylea.

Kaylea says the 4th of July is her favorite holiday.  She likes it because it means her birthday is close.  However, she also can tell you what it means.  We spent the morning running errands and shopping and headed to a party.  A co-worker was throwing a party.  We had a good time, despite not really knowing anyone.  After the party we came back to the house to light off the small pack of fireworks we had purchased.
