the big apple

I know this blog is supposed to be about Kaylea, and it is, but I thought I should include this post about our weekend. Mommy & Daddy had a much needed weekend in NYC. Jordy has been two times before, but this was a first for me. We went all out and spent the extra cash to have a room in the middle of Times Square. We had an awesome view. We spent the weekend sightseeing and just enjoying some adult time.

The thing that sucked is that on Friday afternoon, Kaylea started throwing up. She was in a good mood and wanted to play, but she could not keep anything down. It was really hard to leave knowing that she was sick. Knowing that she would be in good hands with Nana & Mimi made it a little easier, but a sick baby needs here mommy & daddy.

Kaylea stayed sick most of the time when we were gone. She couldn't keep anything down. Nana actually took her to the doctor on Monday. The doctor said it was just a virus and it was going to have to run its course.

The best part of the trip was coming home and seeing Kaylea. She wasn't quite as excited as I expected her to be, but she didn't want to let me out of her sight and she just kept smiling while I was holding her. Even though she didn't want me to put her down at first, she kept yelling for "daddy" if he walked out of the room. Kaylea seemed to be feeling better tonite.

After finding a coupon code and not having to pay Ticketmaster fees,
I broke down and went to see the Christmas Spectacular - I'm so glad I did.
I love Christmas music and the show was absolutely amazing.
Ice Skating @ Rockefeller Center
I was originally sure that I wanted to ice skate and have a photo taken on the ice...
then we arrived....and 2 days later, I was freezing.
I knew I would spend $56 to go out on the ice,
go around once holding onto the sides,
and then leave...therefore, this is the picture we got.

Staten Island Ferry - the best deal in NYC

Times Square - Countdown to 2011

On another note - while in NYC, I was able to karaoke with a live band. Jordy captured it on video, but there is no way I am posting it. I was a rockstar in my own head and that's all that mattered!
