This weekend was a little hectic. We hung out at home on Friday night and ate a healthy meal (we are trying to stick to our budget). Saturday morning, I worked so another supervisor could be off (and I get to benefit with a long weekend next week). When I came home from work, Kaylea and I made some cookies I saw on pinterest. It's a snicker doodle with a Rolo inside. The picture is courtesy of Kaylea who picked up the camera and asked what she should take a picture of.
Kaylea brought home these pictures from school. It was her last week in the classroom with Lara and Laci as her teachers. Next week, she moves to Room 1 with Toni and Christine. This class was OK, but we aren't heartbroken about the move happening sooner than expected.
Saturday night we planned a play date with The Zuercher Family. We planned to have pizza and let the kids hang out, as long as Baby Z hadn't arrived. Jen was due on August 10 (Friday). Just as we were pulling out of the neighborhood, I got a text saying that she was in the early stages of labor, but they still wanted us to come over. We arrived around 4:30 and hung out for awhile. By 6:45, Jen's contractions were 5 minutes apart and she knew it was time to go. We played with Owen until his grandma arrived just past 7:00. I was shocked to hear that Jen had the baby at 10:24 p.m. It was a good thing they headed to the hospital when they did. Hopefully, he will get a name soon and I will have some pictures to post.
On the way home we decided to get Kaylea a bike. Owen's grandma brought him one and Kaylea really seemed interested in it. Until a few weeks ago, I didn't think she was interested in her own tricycle. She asked for this helmet. They must teach that somewhere because I haven't discussed it with her. She definitely needs some practice on the bike, but she enjoyed Mimi pushing her around.
We had a pretty laid back Sunday. Kaylea snuck in the bedroom last night and Daddy headed to the guest room around midnight. We had good snuggle time and she slept past 9:00. We got ready for church and followed with our tradition of lunch and jumping at the mall. Jordy went to see a movie tonight and my mom watch Kaylea while we met for dinner and had a chance for some adult conversation. We had a fabulous weekend, even though I can't believe it's already over!
