I took off on Kaylea's birthday. When she woke up, we brought in a bouquet of balloons we had purchased the night before. We let Kaylea open a present and then my mom came over and gave her a present. She gave her a Snow White tutu dress that she could wear to her party on Friday.
Kaylea said she wanted to go to her favorite restaurant - the one with the clock - A Nice Restaurant. Since the birthday girl gets to pick, that is where we went. Kaylea had also requested that we go to the Zoo. We headed to the zoo right after breakfast, hoping it wouldn't be too hot. It was hot! We got to watch the seals in training, check out some of her favorite animals, and we spent some time at the splash park. Mommy & Daddy both got in the water today, too.
After the zoo, we gave Kaylea at least 10 ideas of things she could do. She didn't want to do any of them. She said she wanted to go to her house and play. When I mentioned getting her toe nails and fingernails painted, she did want to do that, so before heading home, we stopped by to get them painted.
We stopped in at McDonald's before heading home for playtime. During all of the excitement Pop stopped by to say Happy Birthday and give Kaylea some love. We also had a visit from Trina and Mikey. They brought her present over and she loved her new Belle doll.
We finally talked Kaylea into going to the mall. I thought she would want to bounce, but instead she wanted to get some new books and enjoy a cookie. She also played on the turtles and tree house. We had to cut the visit short so we could make it to swim lessons, but when we got to swim lessons, we were disappointed because the pool closed down just as we got in. The pumps had stopped working and everyone had to get out :( Kaylea was very disappointed, but Nana and Pop said she could come over to swim at their house.
All in all, it was a pretty laid back day. I think Kaylea enjoyed all of the attention and having mommy & daddy home with her all day. Happy Birthday sweet girl!
