Kaylea had an amazing birthday party with some amazing friends and family. I hope she realizes one day what an extremely lucky little girl she is. We decided Kaylea should go to school on Friday so that she would nap and not be tired at her party. I picked her up early and we went home and put on her party dress. I made an appointment to have her hair done. It was an epic fail. I felt bad for the girl styling her hair. Kaylea cried because it wasn't in a "ball on top of her head like Cinderella." It was absolutely adorable and after the 3-5 minute crying fit, she was fine with it.
We stated out the party with 45 minutes in the bounce house area. It is pretty neat because you have the party place to yourself during your allotted time and adults can play, too! We had a princess come to the party. It was nice, but I didn't realize she would be coming to the party during bounce time. Kaylea was less interested when there was bouncing to be done.
After the bounce party, we headed to the art studio to make princess crowns and pirate swords. The kids had fun painting. We served pizza (pretty much the only option) and cake and sang to the birthday girl. There was a throne that she really loved sitting in. The hostesses played a few games with the kids before it was time to go. Owen came back to our house for a sleepover. We decided to wait to open presents at home. In fact, we waited until Saturday night after Owen went home.
We decided to have the party inside this year at a place called KaZoing in Louisville. I like it because I basically didn't have to do anything except show up and pay. We had a pirate and princess themed party.
Our friends, Jen, Matt, Owen, and Elliott drove in from Lafayette. We were very excited to have them in town for the weekend.
all of the kids - nearly impossible!
